Grants or loans for disabled persons

I am a victum of TM. I am disabled but I like to be as active as I can be. I am looking for grants to start a small business. Also needing grant money or loan to take care of the growing expencives that's associated with becoming disabled.

I would like any help I can get.

Transverse myelitis (TM) is a neurologic syndrome caused by inflammation of the spinal cord. TM is uncommon but not rare. Conservative estimates of incidence per year vary from 1 to 5 per million population (Jeffery, et.al., 1993). The term myelitis is a nonspecific term for inflammation of the spinal cord; transverse refers to involvement across one level of the spinal cord. It occurs in both adults and children. You may also hear the term myelopathy, which is a more general term for any disorder of the spinal cord.

I went through the whole SS process and can explain to you what to expect. You first apply get turned down automatically, then you appeal then you get turned down automatically then you get an attorney and they take it from there. The process took one year, which is very rare usually after your attorney files the second appeal and turned down you get a date about a year later for a hearing. This is the one you make your appearance. I got lucky and was approved by a review committee after the date a year later was set. The process is designed to weed out the insincere but it takes its toll on the real cases deserving of consideration. I would like to advise you to get all your records in order from the first to last. The better your records are the better your case. Continue to see your doctors and get into a pain management and therepy programs. Everything like this will only make your case stronger. This is the way it went for me, I was extremely lucky. In the meantime your state should have assistance like Ohio I got $125.00 a month with food stamps and a Medicade card for medical. The money wasn't enough but the food stamps and medical assistance does help. If you have any more questions email me @ jayjay969@roadrunner.com and if needed I'll give you my phone number if you need to talk. It's a tough wear you down process, high in there. I also would like to suggest that you look into alternative ways of making money but beware there are many scams out there as I have found out the hard way. THE INTERNET, such a great thing but is a great place for the low lifes to take advantage of us good people. It's really disheartening, I am still trying to make it and just recently I hope and believe that I found some good programs that might just help me make some money. Remember SS money helps allot but it really isn't enough to live a real full life on, you will get by better though. Well Good Luck I hope this helps or atleast puts your mind to rest a little.

Hire a disability attorney. After I was denied twice, I hired an attorney and was granted disability within 2 months. Good Luck

Yes, my name is John Meek and I was in a car wreck at the age of 16 and I was burnt on 60% of my body but was lucky and it did not injure my face or my hands I am a hard worker and love having a job. But with my disability I am unable to be on my feet for long periods of time. Im interested in opening my own small business and helping employ other people with disabilities if you are interested in helping or being involved email me at jhm41784@yahoo.com

Johnnie have you tried Vocational Rehabilatation? They can help with a career, but as far as keeping your home you should check with F.H.A. (Future Homeowners of America). I too am dissabled due to a automobile accident in 2004 Breaking 15 vertibrae.  The help of these two establishments have put me on the path to starting my own business. It may take time' but they could give you a huge window to get your priorities in order. I hop this will be of some help. Good Luck and GOD Bless you.

I am looking for a 100 % paid grant to purchase a wheel chair conversion van for a disabled woman. Does anyone know of any grants that will fund 100% of a automobile purchase? Thank you very much.

To whom it may concern: My name is Jim. I am 46 years old, very happily married and have 5 of the best step children anyone could ask for. On December 31st 2005 my life changed. I was in a very bad accident that left my back broken and a permanent disability. Since I have not been able to work or find work suitable I have lost nearly everything. We are struggling to get by, have amassed a huge amount of debt and don't have enough to get by on. I have been looking for any type of work I can still do but it is not easy to find someone that will take a chance on someone who is disabled. I also filed a claim and it was denied by Social Security. We are appealing. Does anyone know what I can do at this point? Can anyone lend us money? Can anyone keep us from loosing everything? Please let me know

Kevin - I hope somebody here on Aidpage would be able to post or do something of help to you. In the meantime, take a look at the link below... Prosper is a new web based service where people can lend and borrow money to each other directly. This means that people can develop trust in you not only looking at your credit history and current financials (as banks do) but also based on talking directly with you. And even from the little info you posted here, I have the feeling that you may be able to find support there in the form of loans. Good luck!
Prosper
